Ahead of their series finale against the Royals this afternoon, the Mets have called up José Buttó and Grant Hartwig from Triple-A Syracuse and optioned Cole Sulser and Tyler to Syracuse. None of the moves come as a surprise, as the Mets had announced a couple days ago that Buttó would make this start. And the bullpen pieces that are moving are a continuation of the team’s roster churn at the tail end of it’s relief corps.
Buttó has one major league start under his belt so far this year, and it was a good one.
