Well, let’s start by saying the following after my Ann Arbor weekend - Michigan really does have a top-notch athletic campus and the people I met were all polite and helpful. Their softball stadium is the first true home field advantage I’ve encountered - they get into it. And just for good measure? Their Saturday game outdrew the men’s baseball game - and the Michigan men were playing Ohio State.
The games themselves? Well, at least they were close.
The first game was a bit of a slopfest with busloads of runners making it on base - 14 by base hit and 18 by walks or being drilled - and 25 of those 32 runners were left on base.
